1. Who We Are

ReadYourLease is operated by Laniakea Technologies ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about users of our service at readyourlease.ai ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Lease text you submit

When you use the Service, you paste the text of your lease or rental agreement. This text is transmitted to our servers and to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your analysis. We hold it only transiently in memory (a short-lived in-process cache, at most a few hours, which is erased when the server instance recycles) — we do not write your lease text to a database or to disk, and we do not link it to any persistent user identity. See "Data Retention" below for the full model.

Your generated review (report)

When you purchase a full review, the report our AI generates — which includes quoted excerpts from your lease (for example, the specific clauses we flag) — is stored, in a compressed form, as metadata on your Stripe payment record. This lets you reopen your report from its link and guarantees delivery even if a server instance recycles mid-way. The report is retained alongside your payment record. You can request its deletion at any time (see "Your Rights").

Payment information

If you purchase a full analysis, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details. Stripe provides us with a transaction ID and a confirmation of payment. For fraud prevention purposes, Stripe may collect your IP address, browser information, and other signals. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Email address (optional)

We may offer the option to receive your analysis by email. If you provide an email address, we use it solely to deliver your analysis. We do not add you to a marketing list without your explicit consent.

Automatically collected information

When you visit the Service, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for security monitoring, service improvement, and aggregate analytics. It is not linked to the lease text you submit.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide the lease analysis service — processing your lease text through our AI pipeline to generate your report.
• Process your payment and confirm your transaction.
• Deliver your analysis by email if requested.
• Monitor for and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized use of the service.
• Improve the reliability and performance of the service through aggregate, anonymized usage analysis.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your lease text to train AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Data Retention

Here is exactly what we keep, where, and for how long:

• Lease text — transient (in memory only). Held only in a short-lived in-process cache while we generate your review (at most a few hours, and erased when the server instance recycles). It is never written to a database or to disk, and it is never used to train AI models.
• Generated report — retained with your payment. Stored (compressed) as metadata on your Stripe payment record so you can reopen it. The report can quote portions of your lease. It is retained for as long as the payment record is kept, unless you ask us to delete it.
• Delivery / support events — retained with your payment. A small log of service events (for example, "analysis completed", "report email sent", "email delivered") is stored as metadata on the same Stripe payment record so we can confirm you received your report and handle support. It does not contain your lease text.
• Payment records — up to 7 years. Stripe transaction IDs, payment confirmation, and the metadata described above are retained by our payment processor for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes, in accordance with standard business practices.
• Email address — as needed for delivery. If you receive your report by email, your email address is stored with your payment record (and processed by our email provider) to deliver the report and handle any related support.
• Server / infrastructure logs — up to 90 days. Logs containing IP addresses and request metadata are retained by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics, then deleted or anonymized. They are not linked to your lease text.

To have your generated report, delivery events, or email address deleted from your payment record, email support@laniakea.com with your payment date or receipt. We will delete what we are not legally required to retain.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party service providers as necessary to operate the Service:

We do not share your lease text or personal information with any other third parties, except as required by law or legal process.

6. Cookies and Tracking

ReadYourLease uses minimal cookies. Specifically:

• Stripe sets cookies on our payment pages for fraud detection and checkout functionality. These are necessary to process payments.
• Vercel may set performance and analytics cookies as part of its hosting infrastructure.
• We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Note that disabling Stripe's cookies may interfere with payment processing.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal data, including the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Request deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to our legal retention obligations.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Receive a copy of your personal data in a portable format.

ReadYourLease does not require account creation. If you purchased a full review, we can locate your generated report and delivery events by your Stripe payment (your receipt or the payment date and email) and delete them on request. Free lease scores retain nothing to retrieve. To exercise your rights or ask questions about your data, contact us at support@laniakea.com.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted HTTPS connections for all data transmission, secure third-party payment processing through Stripe, and infrastructure security provided by Vercel. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
